Gianmartino Durighello (Italy)

Professor of «Choral Music» at the Conservatorio “A. Steffani” in Castelfranco Veneto, he also teaches «Choral Conducting and Choral Music» and is coordinator for the two-year course in «Sacred Music» at the same institute.  In addition, he teaches «Choral Conducting» at the Sacred Music Institutes in Padua, Oppido Mamertina-Palmi and Venezia, and collaborates with the CEI as a teacher for Coperlim. He has been conductor for the Polifonico Nuovo Rinascimento and member of the artistic Committee for the ASAC-Regione Veneto. He has been invited to teach Masterclasses and Training Courses, and to participate as a member of the jury in choral and composer competitions (Arezzo, Pro Quartiano, Sotto il Monte, Trento, Treviso, Trieste, Venezia, Vittorio Veneto…). He has also been involved in Education, and has collaborated with Giovanni Acciai for the music magazine La Cartellina. 

He has won prizes for his compositions at national and international competitions, and they have been broadcast on TV RAI Uno, TV RAI Due, and on Radio RAI Tre, Radio Svizzera and other private stations.  In addition, they have been chosen as compulsory pieces for competitions, and form part of the study syllabus for training and specialisation courses, and they have also been recorded. He has published with Suvini Zerboni, Milano; Armelin Musica, Padua; Bèrben, Ancona, Carrara and Bergamo; Music Contact, Polheim (D); PH Publishers, Polheim (D); Tre Fontane, Münster (D), and Choralife, Macao (China). While the majority of his work is dedicated to sacred choral music, over the last few years he has turned his attention to chamber music and traditional Jewish music (Prize UCEI/2017). He has also published texts regarding spirituality and musical-liturgical formation (Armelin Musica, Padua; Cittadella, Assisi and Libreria Gregoriana Editrice, Padua)
